ABOUT RUGGED PAW PET CARE

Hi!  I'm Ashley and am the owner & sole member of Rugged Paw Pet Care (except for my husband Mike sometimes helping, or Ramona starring in most of our content).  I've been in love with dogs since I could comprehend what a dog was; and I firmly believe that they are the best and most loving creatures on this planet :) 

A little history:

In 2016, Mike & I adopted our first dog together - Bronson (pre Ramona).  Bronson, however, came home riddled with a very stubborn, angry, and chronic skin condition.  He would break out (literally) from head to toe.  He was red, inflamed, and insanely uncomfortable.  Immediately springing into action, we tried holistic vets, different homemade diets, allergy tests, multiple vet appointments, lots of research, booties, clothes, and more.  After over a year of trial and error and lots of money spent, our vet was finally able to get us some answers & the right combination of medication to help our Bron feel more comfortable.  Naturally, I wanted Bronson to have the best options for healing & relief, outside of just his medications (so that we could also ween him to the lowest possible dose).  I tried so many products, continued to do a bunch of research, and then some lightbulbs started turning on.

Eager to bring some of my ideas to life, I, at the time, was working closely with a good friend, Zach West (Owner of Shear Revival Grooming & Beauty Co.), who already had a lot of knowledge about formulating, as he was making his own amazing grooming products for humans for many years at this point (check them out - their products rock).  Fast forward - between his experience/guidance + my ideas/research, we got to formulating & eventually the line was born!

And as a dog mom, it feels really good knowing exactly what I am putting into these handmade products & that each product has yielded such amazing results for my Bronson, as well as others all over the country.

TW: LOSS

In the beginning of 2025, we unexpectedly lost our Bronson.  Earth and heart shattering does not even begin to describe that experience.  It took a huge toll on our family, and especially my motivation to do anything with Rugged Paw. 

Bronson's face was all over the branding & it was all very paralyzing.  However, with time, it had become clear that I needed to get this thing going again and continue pursuing this for my soul dog.  So with a full rebrand, some formula tweaks, and a fresh positive energy, Rugged Paw is here and stronger than ever :)

If you're already part of the Rugged Paw family, it is imperative that you know how appreciated you are.  And if you're new here, you are equally as appreciated just for being here.

Ultimately, I hope we can get to know each other more and continue to give our dogs the best lives together.
